Initial Injury Assessment

The aim of an initial assessment is to assess and diagnose musculoskeletal dysfunctions, injuries, pain and niggles you may be experiencing. We can establish how the injury came about, address any predisposing factors, discuss your goals, educate you on managing your pain and design a treatment plan going forward. I will take you through a full body assessment to provide me with the best information to create your individualised rehabilitation plan.

Initial assessments will last 60 minutes and follow up sessions can be either 60 or 30 minutes. These follow up sessions can be a mixture of services depending on the rehab plan.

This can be done through online sessions and home visits.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a form of therapy using various techniques including METs and PNF stretching to help reduce tension. It can also be used to aid in recovery of the tissues by increasing blood flow to the muscles and draining excess waste through the lymphatic system. Other benefits of massage can be to reduce stress and anxieties.

You can choose from either 60 minute or 30 minute appointments.

Exercise Rehab Programming

After receiving an in-depth assessment, an individual tailored program will be devised via Rehab Guru, an exercise app that allows me to provide you with the most up to date content and videos. The aim of the program will be to help manage your pain, educate you on your condition and the best way to manage it, tailored to your specific needs and goals and return you to full physical function and independence.

You will also receive ongoing communication and support via email and phone.

This can be done through online sessions, home visits and on your own.

Kinesiology Tape

With elastic qualities, KT-tape lifts skin from muscles allowing greater blood flow to the required area. When injuring yourself, the body’s natural healing process produces inflammation and other by-products. KT-tape allows these to be more swiftly removed and assist in recovery time of the injury. Other benefits of KT-tape are that it is 100% elastic, therefore it does not hinder movement and can be used with different techniques to facilitate posture enhancement, giving bio-feedback of where your body is in space.

Athletic Tape

Athletic tape is a rigid tape used mainly during sport for athletes to give them more support and restrict motion of joints. The fabric typically uses zinc-oxide base glue which helps the tape adhere to the skin well while staying strong. The different techniques used to apply the tape helps to maintain a stable position of bones and muscles during activities. Reducing pain and aiding recovery are some of the benefits of this treatment.
